DIY pregnancy journal

If you’re looking for a special shower gift or a memento for yourself, search no further than your own home. Chances are you already have everything on hand to create a pretty pregnancy journal. Best of all, it only takes a few minutes to assemble this keepsake that will last a lifetime.

Materials:
• Hard-cover notebook, any size
• Fabric or paper (wrapping paper, sticker paper, construction paper, etc.)
• Double-sided tape or glue
• Ribbon and other embellishments
• Alphabet set (rub-off lettering, beads, stickers, etc.)

Directions:
Step 1: Depending on the colour of your notebook, decide whether you want to wrap it completely or partially. We liked how the black contrasted with the pink paper, so we left a small band along the top and bottom. Glue or tape paper or fabric onto the notebook, being sure to wrap around the sides for a clean edge.

Step 2: Play with embellishments by moving them around, swapping some for others, until you come up with a look that appeals to you. We glued the pink gingham ribbon (which was recycled from a gift bag and already had the pink button attached) around the center of the book and wrapped it over the sides. Then we applied rub-off lettering along the top of the notebook and rub-off flowers and polka-dots along the bottom of the notebook.

Step 3: If the journal is a gift, create a matching bookmark by wrapping the same paper or fabric around a piece of cardboard and applying similar embellishments. Add a nice pen, then wrap and present.
